MJDF Part 2 Examination- A guide

- Dr. Ayesha Saulat

MJDF Part 2 examination

So my journey for MJDF 2 was a tough one since I had very little guidance regarding the exam online and there are hardly any online classes available in English for this exam. I had to do ALOT of digging and asked different people in Cairo and UK to know the exam pattern. I will make it easier for you.

There will be 14 OSCE stations out of which 3 will be rest stations.

There will be 1.5 minutes given outside the room to read the question and after that a bell will ring and you will be given 8 minutes inside the room.

Now the osce stations are divided into parts

1. Actor osce
2. Written osce
3. Skilled osce
4. Medical emergency
5. Structured Critical Reasoning (SCR)
5. Critical appraisal

Actor OSCE:
There will be one Actor and one examiner. The examiner will not interact with you. You just have to go and do your task like you attend all the patients in your private practice.

Witten OSCE:
It can come in form of questions with one line answers or they can ask you to write a prescription or a lab document.

Skilled OSCE:
It can be associated with an actor osce like for example splinting or sutures you will be given 2 to 3 min for this

Other osces can be Rubber dam, XCP, RPD design, IOTN, IM injection, temporary impression handwashing technique, cranial nerve examination.

Medical Emergency:
It's very tricky and they fail if you don't do this right. So you have to prepare everything starting from CPR, Hypoglycemia, Anxiety, Seizure, Anaphylactic shock, Adrenal crisis, Choking.

SCR:
So in the room there will be 2 examiners sitting in SCR. About 3 stations will be of this and they will ask u different questions regarding your knowledge of part 1 and part 2 combined.

Critical Appraisal:
This will be done of a research article and the examiners will ask different questions regarding the study.

Best of luck to all of you.
I will be starting MJDF Part 2 online classes. I have enough knowledge about the exam and passed my exam in first attempt Allhumdulilah.

The key to this exam is practice practice and practice.
