Magnification is highly beneficial for a number of dental procedures specifically but not confined to areas with decreased visibility such as the posterior teeth. Working with the loupes, I was able to perform dental procedures more efficiently and accurately outlining the anatomy and surface details of the tooth whether it was doing a cavity preparation, simple or complex filling, veneer preparation, crown cutting etc. It was advantageous for me in endodontics, upon chamber opening, location of canals, filling and obturation. It improved my surgical skills, as I was able to effectively deliver anesthesia/local block, raise flaps, and perform simple and complex extractions and perform minor oral surgeries i.e. impactions, alveoloplasty etc.
I was able to provide a better smile to my patients especially with esthetic concern in procedures such as gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, crown lengthening, whitening and bleaching procedures and scaling and polishing allowing me to access the hidden interdental areas with supra and subgingival plaque and calculus.
The dental loupes came in a portable box packaging with the loupes itself with a headband, the LED light, charger and battery. It has 3.5x magnification and it is light-weight with LED light enabling you to access the working field with suitable visibility. The paramount feature would be the adjustability on the magnification lenses' flip on design which reaches to about 3.5x allowing you to adjust and work more comfortably with improved posture removing the episodes of continuous backaches.
The adjustability of the headband attached to the loupes makes it easy to adjust and allow it to fit perfectly and both the loupes and LED light has a good battery life allowing you to work more efficiently providing the high standard of care for the patient. Overall, my experience with the dental loupes at 3.5x magnification was beyond miraculous, a product I would recommend all dentists to invest in. I'm looking towards getting a higher magnification to further improve my work.
